Sean is turning 2!
It feels like it has been forever since my last Blog entry. We have been busy with life and simply enjoying time with our boy. Time is certainly going fast, but we are doing our best to enjoy every moment with Sean as he is changing and growing so quickly.
Sean is turning 2 on June 29th! It's so hard to believe that it's been 2 years since his birth. Sean is talking. He says one to two words at a time and will repeat a lot of words we say.
We love it when he wakes up from his nap and yells, "Mom!" We love it when he gets home from the day at his Grandparents and says, "Daddy!" with so much joy to see his Daddy.
It's amazing how much we love our boy. He is sweet and friendly. Did I mention polite too? He says, "Thank you", but he is still working on saying, "Please".
Sean loves going to the park and meeting new friends. He loves being read to. He loves going for walks and he LOVES his family.
Sean likes Thomas the Train and anything related to the CARS movie. He called Lightning McQueen, "Caro" which is car in Portuguese.
Sean likes cars, trains and airplanes.
He loves taking walks and can point out so many things like, trees, clouds, grass, flowers, leaves and the moon. He loves being outdoors! We are looking forward to taking him camping.
We are blessed by Sean and by being his "Mom and Daddy". A child is a GIFT from GOD. For me...(Sean's Mom), he has been the best gift. We are so grateful for Sean. We absolutely adore him even when he acts like an almost 2 year old. We know it's a stage and we remind ourselves, "this too shall pass".
We love and adore you Sean Riley! Thank YOU for coming into our lives! You are the best son! Thank you for bringing us so much joy and love into our lives. Thank you for helping us grow as parents. We have learned a lot in the last couple of years, but we have a long journey ahead of us. We are looking forward to raising you and guiding you in this life. God bless you son! Happy Birthday!

Mother's Day 2013
This was an incredibly special Mother's Day. It was wonderful to spend time with family. Sean enjoyed his visit from cousin Stephanie, Aunt Linda and Uncle Stan in the afternoon.
In the morning, Sean enjoyed his walk with Mommy and Daddy in the neighborhood and to the nearby Toddler park. Sean spoke with Grandma Harriet on the way home from the park and wished her a Happy Mother's Day!
In the evening, we had dinner with Avo, Avo, Tia Valeria, Tio Steve, Derek and Bryce at a favorite local restaurant.
Mommy ended the evening by reading to Sean and Sean attempting to read to Mommy. Sean fell peacefully asleep after his bottle.
What an incredible blessing to be Sean's Mommy! Sean is the most wonderful gift that I have ever received.
Thank God for such a beautiful and healthy "baby" boy.
I love being Sean's Mommy!

Being Sean's Mommy & Daddy is so much fun!
Sean is becoming more and more active. He loves playing, dancing, singing, walking, going to the park, meeting new friends, discovering new things...
At the moment...at 22 months, he really enjoys playing with his cars and with Thomas the Train.
We took Sean to Santa Cruz last weekend. We took a walk on West Cliff Drive. It was a beautiful overcast morning. From there, we went to the Wharf and had lunch at Stagnaro Brothers. Sean had a great view of an aquarium. He was in awe of all the fishes in the aquarium....yellow, blue and red fish.
We are enjoying being Sean's Mommy & Daddy. He's our sweet boy and we love him!
Sean says "Thank you" alot. We are so proud of him!

"Peese & Tank you" - Our boy has manners!
Our boy is learning his manners. He says "Peese" and "Tank you". We are so proud of Sean! How blessed we are to be not only be parents, but Sean's parents.
We are incredibly grateful for how well he is doing. Sean has become very active. He loves playing and being outdoors.
We are looking forward to a fun Spring & Summer with our boy.
Last weekend, we went to Uncle Stan's for dinner to celebrate his birthday. It was great to be around family. Aunt Linda made an absolutely delicious Mexican dinner. As always, her cooking was "out of this world!" Sean enjoyed playing with Cousin Stephanie, Grandma Harriet & Grandpa Richard. We all loved the German Chocolate cake Grandma Harriet made for Uncle Stan! Yum...yum!

Sean meets the Mayor /Easter Weekend
Sean turned 21 months on March 29th. He is truly a Toddler now. It feels like he went from baby to Toddler overnight. People aren't kidding when they say "they grow fast".
We weighed Sean this evening. According to our scale, he weighs 24.5 lbs., but certainly feels heavier.
Sean had a super Easter weekend! On Saturday morning, Mommy took Sean to his favorite park. It was fairly early in the morning and we had the entire park to ourselves. As Sean is sliding down the slide, several families are passing us heading to the other side of Central Park, here in Santa Clara. The children all had their Easter baskets.
Sean and Mommy decided to follow them to check out what was going on. We arrived at 2 minutes to 10AM and were told that an Easter Egg Hunt was going to begin in 2 minutes! We decided quickly to participate. We purchased our pink Easter basket (no blue baskets were left) and hurried over to the 0 to 2 age group. We arrived to our section at 10 AM sharp. Too late for any Easter eggs. Mommy was determined to get Sean at least one Easter egg. Mommy says aloud (in hopes that some kind child or parent would hear), "Sean maybe one of the children will give you one of their eggs." It worked! A little girl who had about 4 eggs in her basket, kindly gave Sean 1 of her eggs. Success! Sean and Mommy Thanked the little girl and her Mommy. Sean was so happy with his one Easter egg. It was very special because it was Sean's first!
Mommy was trying to get Sean to pose for a photo. He was proudly standing with his one egg when the Mayor and his youngest daughter stop to say "Hi" to Sean. The Mayor thought Sean was so cute standing with his one egg that he took a photo of Sean.
Easter Sunday was wonderful. We started off our morning by going to church and celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Running, Sharing and Sliding
Sean has gone from walking to running. He is getting faster and faster and more confident each day.
We went to the park this weekend and Sean slid down the slide all by himself. He loves sliding down all by himself. He also still enjoys going down the big slide with Mommy or Daddy.
Sean loves to share his food, especially his peas and Cherrios. We took Sean to the book store on Saturday. There is a Thomas the Train train set located in the Children's section with only 1 Thomas the Train, so only one child can play at a time. After a boy finished with his turn, Sean got a turn. Sean played for close to 10 minutes before a little girl patiently waited her turn. Mommy said to Sean, "Da para menina". Translation: Give to the girl. Sean looked a Mommy. He understood! He walked around the train set/ table and handed the girl the train. Mommy was so proud! And Thanked Sean for sharing.

Beautiful Weekend
Sean & Mommy were ill with a cold for a few days last week, but as soon as we were well, we decided to have a little fun!
Sean had a few visitors on Saturday. Aunties Stephanie, Monica and Diana. It was wonderful to have a nice visit from friends and their children. Sean enjoyed playing with his friend Marina. Marina, thanks for coming over to play!
On Sunday, we laid low still recovering from our colds, but in the afternoon we felt much better, so we decided to take a drive to Lexington Dam and take a short walk to our favorite tree. It was a bit breezy near the tree and Sean's first experience with breeze that he got a little scared, but as soon as we were away from the breeze, he had a blast! He loved his trek in nature today. He enjoyed walking on the trail and seeing the birds and trees...and we saw a bunny rabbit too! What fun to be out for an afternoon after being cooped up in the house for a few days.
Thank God for such a beautiful February afternoon.

Standing and Walking "soon"
Sean stands for a long time now with no support. He really enjoys standing and clapping while he is standing. I think he's proud of himself.
Walking...getting closer. He took 10 steps forward on Sunday. He's getting more and more confident each day.
Sean turned 19 months on January 29th.

KISSES!
Tonight when Sean left Avo's house, he blew her a kiss Good-bye. It was very sweet.
Later in the evening when Sean was hanging out with Daddy, Daddy was holding Sean and said "I love you Sean." Sean turned his head and gave his Daddy a kiss on the cheek.
Let the KISSES begin! We love you Sean...sweet baby boy!

Hiking and Haircut
Today Sean went for a short hike with Mommy & Daddy at Rancho San Antonio. It was a beautiful January afternoon.
After the hike, Daddy gave Sean his first haircut. Sean sat still for the entire event! Daddy did a great job!
Sean is doing great! He enjoyed going to dinner for Grandma Harriet's birthday last weekend and for Cousin Bryce's birthday this weekend. Sean loves being around family.
Sean is taking a few steps forward by himself (with no support) and he stands without support for about 30 seconds. Each week his steps are increasing and the amount of time he stands without support is also increasing. These are good signs that some day soon, Sean will be walking on his own! He is enjoying the process. He laughs when he takes steps. And he loves walking all around the house.

Happy 2013!
Sean is now 18 months old! He's getting closer and closer to walking. He's standing a few seconds on his own and likes to walk all around holding on to whatever he can to support himself.
He's somewhere around 25 lbs. He goes to visit the Doctor soon, so we find out what he weighs. He's looks good and healthy. By looking at him, you'd never know he was a Preemie once upon a time.
We are incredibility grateful for his good health! Sean is a good eater. So far...he'll eat whatever we place on his plate to eat. He's not a picky eater at all.
Sean says a few words now... "Mama, Daddy, Ba-Bye and a couple of words in Portuguese. He understands a lot!
His favorite T.V. shows so far are Thomas The Train, Elmo and The Wiggles.
Sean loves being read to. He has several favorite books. To name only a few....Brown Bear Brown Bear What do you see, Good Night Moon and Thomas the Train.
Sean continues to be a friendly baby. He lets people hold him even when meeting them for the first time.
